Sand storms and Snow storms

Ah camping in the desert . . . . when Ian convinced me to go to the desert with him, little did I know that it would be an "extreme conditions" weekend.



We had fun riding the quad in the sand dunes, but we had to fight the elements to have fun. Saturday all day the wind was so high that sand was flying everywhere. We stayed inside the truck most of the day to avoid the flying sand, but we did get out on the quad - wearing goggles and bandanas and all :)



Even Sagan loved it - he chased tumble weeds the entire weekend and braved the sand storm too.



And then . . . believe it or not, it SNOWED on Saturday night! The whole desert and surrounding mountains (and all of our stuff, too) was covered in several inches of snow. It was gorgeous, and freezing cold. But Ian made us a HUGE fire that kept us nice and warm :)
